has been super busy! I am so glad hopefully things will start slowing down in a week or two. This week I have been working on so many different projects, teaching sewing classes, and just trying to get things off my to-do list.
Here’s a few things that I have been working on over the past week:
I used my Cricut to cut out some iron-on transfer for this football shirt to wear to X’s game. (I actually went ahead and purchased a gray turtleneck for this one, just pressed for time in the sewing area lately). I also made X a shirt as well as S which were a hit! *note: this cut file was from lovesvg.com I am hoping to finish up one for my husband next week and then we can have a little family photo in them.
One of my students whipped up this hat and scarf in my kids apparel class. This week she is making matching mittens. She adores them! Plus, she is going to be pretty cozy as soon as the snow starts falling.
Yesterday, I made a quick run to Jo-anns and picked up a few patterns (5 for $5, couldn’t pass that up!), some fabric for a new “Cosette” for winter out of a brushed flannel shirting, along with some felt for Christmas ornaments, and a few other odds and ends. I am really looking forward to sewing these bras.
Today, I am already busy tackling this quilt top:
and I almost have the top finished!! This quilt is going to be pretty wonky in places, but in this case I am not looking for perfection, but a finished quilt that will be cozy and ready to be curled up in. My goal is to have this quilt done by the 19th so I better get to it!
Even though I usually sew garments, I am a total hobby quilter and I love wonky style quilts. It’s been awhile since I have made an actual quilt not mini quilt. This has been great for refreshing my skills and techniques and is especially useful for teaching my quilting classes. I also picked up a new free-motion quilting foot since I didn’t have one for my new machine. I can’t wait to test it out this weekend.
This weekend is going to be busy, it’s X’s last flag football game and I am going to spend a lot of time on Saturday cutting things out on the Cricut while hanging out with my mom for a little mother-daughter craft time. Then it’s going to be full on sewing day on Sunday 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
