During Selfish Sewing Week, I was working on the first muslin of an upcoming pattern. It totally didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted and I am in the process of doing a little bit or re-evaulating of the pattern. So I was stumped and slightly annoyed, so I decided to take a break from it and sew up a little something for myself. I went through my stash of fabric and found this knit that I had picked up on a random Jo-Ann trip awhile back. I didn’t really have anything in mind for the specific fabric when it hit me… it would be a fantastic fall “Grace”!
So I set to work on sewing one up a few hours later, I had this cardigan to show for it! It was love at first try on 🙂
I whipped up a size Large. (Right now I am smack in-between a Large and an X-Large which is pretty lame most of the time). I did a roll hem on this which fyi the hem on this pattern is a beast. There is a lot of it which requires just a little patience. This knit is see through and light weight which keeps it from being super warm. I plan on wearing it on the warmer autumn days and on cool summer nights.
I am so glad that I took the time to make this during Selfish Sewing Week and add another piece to my fall wardrobe. Now to make a couple of tanks to go underneath it, probably the Greenwood tank from Straight Stitch Designs.
