Right behind leopard print, houndstooth takes the cake for me. I was drawn to this knit medium sized black and white houndstooth right off the bat at a random trip to one of the local fabric shops. Immediately, I thought it would make a perfect “Rosaline”.
I was looking to add a useful garment that would get lots of wear in my fall capsule wardrobe and I am very void of anything with a 3/4 length sleeve.
Here’s the details:
Neckline: Scoop (I decided not to fold over the knit binding all the way and instead used some leftover black knit to make solid bands in order to create a resting place for the eye since it is a busy print)
Sleeve: 3/4 length with cuffs
Now that the weather is starting to cool down, I am finally going to have a chance to wear this top. One of my favorite parts are the cuffs, since I think it really finishes this version of quite nicely.
I finished this top in just an afternoon which I love when things come together quickly. One of the reasons, I designed this pattern was to have so many options, to be a quick sew, and be flattering since it is slightly fitted.
Now I need to make a few dress versions to throw over leggings! Don’t forget there is only two more days (sale ends September 30, 2015) to grab your copy of “Rosaline” on sale!
