A Leopard Bow “Rosaline”

Rosaline leopard 1A while back on one of many trips to Michael’s, I stumbled upon a Betsey Johnson leopard iron-on bow! On clearance no less. Here’s the thing 1) I am obsessed with leopard print (seriously ask anyone about my collection of leopard print things, in fact I am currently pining for a leopard print rug) 2) I adore Betsey Johnson 3) I love a good clearance find. So into the cart it went and sat at the studio on my desk for a couple of weeks until I had a brainwave on what I was going to make and add the iron-on applique to.

rosaline leopard 3Right now, I seem to be in a bit of an “eggplant ” phase. There are not very many shades of purple that I gravitate towards, but this happens to be one that I adore. I had purchased several yards of the eggplant knit for a sample of one of the upcoming patterns and I loved it so much that I actually ended up going and buying more just to make this “Rosaline”. Wanting to add a few more “Rosaline’s” to my closet has been on my to-do list for awhile. This pattern has so many combos, is slightly fitted, and is a quick sew.  I knew the scoop neck version would be perfect for adding the bow!

rosaline leopard 4I whipped this one up at my house instead of the studio, so I didn’t use a serger on this one. To finish the seams I used a zig-zag stitch and trimmed the excess seam allowance. Here’s the inside of the finished garment.
