From the Sewing Studio Sessions: My Workspace

Since I am busy in the studio working on tons of new patterns, I did a little bit of rearranging in my studio space with an attempt at creating a better workflow. I had an old dining table (I have plans for refinishing the table eventually) that I have turned into a desk over by my main inspiration wall. The other inspiration wall was my quilt wall that has quickly become overflow for my inspiration boards. Nothing I love better than ripping up magazines and putting together mood boards and color stories. My dress forms are all in a corner right now with several new samples on them hence only the bottoms in the photo above.   My cutting table is covered with projects at the moment. It’s rare that my studio is neat and tidy, I am a totally clutter person but I’m working on it 😉  My sewing machines are all on one table plus my mom’s sewing machine. I have my regular machine, serger, and coverstitch all set up and use a rolling chair to roll around because that’s just plain fun!   All of my in progress patterns and finished patterns are hung on pattern racks that my husband made me! They are one of my favorite things ever and I use them everyday. I also organize all my finished samples by model name on one side and stack fabric for samples along the bottom.

When I am not working from home on the computer and in my little sewing nook at home after the kiddos get home from school or on the weekend you can find here in my studio drafting patterns, sewing samples, making adjustments, and writing instructions for my pattern line all while watching Bravo or The Golden Girls or Murder, She Wrote.
