I have spent a few weeks pondering what word I wanted to set as my intention for the year. I needed, wanted, craved a word that I would be something that I could really infuse and implement into my life this year. I wanted something very intentional, very tangible, something I could focus on, something I could accomplish, and something very me. For awhile, I really felt like flourish was going to be my word, but it just didn’t feel right and I think that might have been because it was becoming very popular in the social media arena.
So, I let it go. And then waited.
I decided not to push the process, my word would find me, I just needed to keep my eyes open.
When it popped up, I really couldn’t believe it because I literally have the word hanging up in several places in my home and it kept appearing in books and articles I have been reading or I was just starting to notice it more.
Passion, it is what 2015 is going to be about. It is going to be the driving force behind my year. It feels right. It feels whole. It feels tangible. It feels like me. It feels like this is exactly where and what I need for this year to push me farther.
I made the graphic above as a way to channel how I was going to put “Passion” in action. (Over on Pinterest you can find the beginnings of my inspiration board for my word of the year.)
This is only the second time that I have found a word that I feel is right for the year (the first was focus), most year’s I can’t seem to make the words stick.
Passion is going to show up around here (already working on so many things that I can’t wait to share) and push me farther in my patterns, sewing, designs, my handmade wardrobe, and in so many other facets of my life as well.
Are choosing a word for the year? How to you plan to incorporate it in your sewing?
