I took a nice little blogging break over the holiday (my Thanksgiving was wonderful by the way), but it's great to get back into the swing of things over here and get back into my semi-normal routine. Semi-normal because I am busy working on a some handmade holiday gifts, of course, a little last minute, but fun none the less! I am going to try to squeeze in a little me time sewing though in order to keep up with my goals for the year. The follow is a little refresher on the goal (in case your new to the blog and this month's game plan.)
Here's my goal: a 70/30 handmade capsule (probably around 30-40 pieces) wardrobe for 2 seasons (autumn/winter & spring/summer). I am not included shoes, handbags or accessories.
Why: I have an ton of clothes, but I really only wear/like some of the garments. The amount of space that my clothes take up is quite a bit (I am pretty sure the boyfriend would like some of the dresser drawer space, too 😉 ). I also love to hold on to things… go figure. I want to streamline the closet, simplify, and really stick with quality/fit over quantity.
The Game Plan: (At the end of every month, I will post the game plan for the following month)
December- Make the True Bias Hudson Pants find the pattern here. My plan is to make some crazy holiday print lounge pants.
Make at least one t-shirt, pattern yet to be decided.
Go through my stash of patterns and make a to make list as long as they fit in my wardrobe plan as well as a small list of patterns to purchase.
I am keeping December pretty simple with the garment making for me, since I have a large project list filled with garments and other goodies for the kiddos. Plus I am busy working on a new pattern that I am hoping will be ready for release in January.
