Welcome to Day 1 of the first annual, Handmade Holidays: Make it. Sew it. Series on the Blog!
This week is going to be filled with a few free holiday themed patterns, printables, and tutorials, I couldn’t be more excited! I am a total holiday fanatic and the months of October, November, and December are just my favorite since they are packed to the brim with holiday goodness. This year I decided to start a new tradition here on the blog with this holiday series and I hope that you will enjoy it, too!
Our first project is the “Carson” Coffee Sleeve which is a wonderful project to make for gift giving for some of the harder to shop for people on your gift list. You can easily make several, assembly line style in just an afternoon. It’s also an awesome way to use up larger fabric scraps (at least 5″ x 11″) that are hidden in your stash as well as some single buttons that may be floating around in your sewing space. My favorite thing about the “Carson” Coffee Sleeve is that in the middle there is a layer of insulated batting. It really keeps your hands from getting to hot. I always end up making a few of these for gifts and then making a new one for myself to stash in my purse.
